Think before you do! Big Brother is watching every your step.
These are not phrases from a reality show, it’s the real life as if in reality show .
The UK considers as the most surveilled country, currently there are 5 million cameras are operating across the UK. London has more closed-circuit CCTV cameras than any other city in the world. Average Londoner appears 300 time per day in front of the cameras.For some part of population this fact is intolerant infringement of liberty and personal privacy, for others it’s only solution against the expending crime.
According to the Home Office’s report , which claimed that greater use of CCTV and neighborhood wardens led to fall in robberies and burglaries, 56% of crimes had been successfully investigated by the contributing of surveillance tools such as CCTV , fingerprint and DNA database. However the department for constitutional Affairs said, there needed to be balance between sharing information responsibility and respecting the citizens right.
This essay will assess the efficiency and necessity of this kind of national security system, also evaluate the positive and negative sides of surveillance society.


The UK’s Home Secretary’s report (published in newspaper “Times” dated 25/01/ 2005 ) showed that security is under the deep control of government’s spatial organizations. After few month, in spite of authority’s touting, the 7 of July 2005 shook the world particularly the UK. There was series of coordinated bomb blasts that hit London’s public transport system during the morning rush hour. The bombings kills 52 commuters,700 were injured and coursed disruption of the city’s transport system. It was the an other huge sorrow for all rational people all over the world. These cruel events are raising the questions that need to be answered by the government, whether the gigantic investment to the surveillance industry is not a wasting the money of taxpayers. Nevertheless this not necessarily indicates that surveillance tools are totally useless, as by their contribution to the investigation of these terrorist attacks had brought effective result. Although the first important task and the main feature of surveillance sociality is to maintain the control in public places ,and to predict the events before they happened, which has agreed with UK’s constitution.
